Birmingham team manager Phil Morris says this coming week could determine if the Brummies finish top of the table come the end of the season.
Birmingham’s busy week starts with an away trip to Peterborough’s East of England Showground on Monday, on Wednesday the Brummies host Eastbourne while on Friday, they travel to Coventry’s Brandon Stadium.
The Brummies sit third in the Elite League table with 37 points from 14 meetings, but the Midlands team have an advantage. Current leaders Wolverhampton have picked up 40 points from 19 meetings – 5 more than Birmingham.
A successful week for Birmingham could see them rise to the top of the Elite League table and in a strong position for the end of season playoffs; where the league’s top team gets to pick their opponents for the semi-final.
Brummies boss Phil Morris said ahead of the week: “This is the start of a massive week for the Brummies. We have four matches over the next week or so and picking points up on the road is going to be massive if we are to achieve top spot in the league table. We can’t forget that although Peterborough are bottom, they have won their last two meetings at the Showground convincingly so we’re taking nothing for granted.”
