Lewis Bridger has been added to the line-up for Thursday’s Monster Energy World Cup race-off on Thursday in Prague alongside Birmingham’s Ben Barker.
It was a major goal this season for the Lakeside man to make the World Cup squad but he was left disappointed when he was left out of the side for event 2. Now Bridger has been handed his chance and he is determined to make himself a Great Britain hero.
Bridger told 365 “To be going to Prague is unreal, it’s everything we have been working for all season. All the hard work has paid off. There is no pressure going into the meeting, I believe I deserve to be there. Others have been given a chance in the first round, which they deserved but they didn’t rise to the occasion and now it is my chance to see what I can do.
“I was very disappointed to be left out of the first meeting but I also seen where the management were coming from. Edward started the season in great form and Craig has been on fire but as everyone knows Speedway is very much a confidence sport and when it is a bit low it can be difficult especially in a meeting like tonight.
“I won’t stop now, it will be all preparation and I will be all ready for practice on Thursday morning. Hopefully I can come in a do what I know I can and we can make it through to the final.”
