"The Arena Essex Raceway, where the Lakeside Hammers race, is one of my best tracks and I think the team that they have put together has an excellent chance of success."
He continued by saying: "Once I knew that there was no place for me at Wolverhampton I spoke to Jon Cook as Lakeside was the track I wanted to be at. It's the perfect set up for me as I know the management well, the track is always well prepared, the fans have always been good to me (even though I have been riding against their team), travelling from Stansted should be easy as it is nearby and I have friends, like Paul Hurry, on hand to help when needed.”
The Hammers finished fourth in the Elite league last season and grabbed the final playoff place ahead of Coventry, in the two-edged semi-final against Eastbourne the Essex club lost out by 9 points on aggregate.
