- Category: World U21 Championship
Peterborough's Michael Jespen Jensen went on to lift the FIM Under-21 World Championship for the first time in his career.
The World Cup winner claimed the title by just a single point over title rival and 2011 Champion Maciej Janowski, heading into the final round at Bahia Blanca, Argentina, Jespen Jensen held a narrow three point advantage.
Both Jespen Jensen and Janowski matched each other until heat 11 where the Pole got the better of the Dane to close the gap between to two riders overall, and Janowski went on to finish the meting with an unbeaten 15 point maximum. But a second place for Jespen Jensen in his final ride was enough to secure the title with a point advantage.
With 13 points, Jespen Jensen finished level with fellow Dane Mikkel B Jensen in the standings on the night, and the newly crowned champion beat his compatriot to claim the final round silver medal.
