Swede Andreas Jonsson is preparing to return to the sport after suffering a broken shoulder and ribs in the Danish Grand Prix last month.
Jonsson was the victim of a track crash that involved Matej Zagar and Emil Sayfutdinov, as the Slovenian came out of the second bend, he forced the Sayfutdinov into the back straight fence ahead of Jonsson who was left nowhere to go.
The Swede was taken away by ambulance where x-rays revealed the full extend of the damage. Jonssson was forced to miss the world cup for his country where he was set to star.
His team released a statement on his website: “On Tuesday this week, Andreas again get on the bike to test his body and see if it is ready to compete again.
“After the test run, Andreas well be able to see how his body feels and discuss with his trainer when he can be back on the race track again.”
With the Italian Grand Prix just under two weeks away, it is likely that Jonsson will return to take his place in the lineup.
