Eastbourne have signed Finnish World Cup star Timo Lahti as a replacement for reserve Dawid Lampart who left the club.
Lampart left the club over disagreements with the management at Eastbourne earlier in the month, 18-year-old Lahti will join the club in time for their double-header with Lakeside on Good Friday. Eastbourne travel to Lakeside for a 13:00 fixture before both team travel to Eastbourne for the 19:45 fixture.
Eastbourne co-promoter Mike Bellerby told the club’s official website: “Lahti is desperate to further his career and we think he fits the bill for our new No 7.
“Taylor has done a fantastic job for us since Lampart’s departure and I know everyone at Arlington admires the way he races. However, his Ipswich commitments mean that he would miss many of our fixtures.
“We believe that if we are to sustain a championship challenge we need a regular seven-man team and that’s why we have brought in Lahti. Taylor will remain our No 8 and we will have no hesitation in using him again should the need arise.”
