Eastbourne's Joonas Kylmakorpi required emergency surgery to stop heavy bleeding from having his tonsils removed.
The Finn was on route to Poland at the time and had to stop off in Germany to have surgery and spent the next five days in hospital.
Speaking to expressen.se he said: " I was bleeding heavily and had emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. I have my first meeting in three weeks in Britain, and the season isn't in any danger."
