Aces Into KO Cup Final

Belle Vue have set up a Knockout Cup Final with Poole after beating Lakeside on Wednesday night.

On a very treacherous track at Kirkmanshulme Lane, the Aces were three points behind from the first leg at the Arena Essex Raceway at the end of September but went on to win the meeting by six points overall and earn themselves a place in the final against new Elite League Champions Poole.

The meeting was called off after 12 heats when both teams requested that the meeting be abandoned due to the deteriorating track conditions, at the time Belle Vue Heat leaders Rory Schlein and Chris Harris were in good form despite the track status, the Australian was unbeaten from three rides while from the same number of rides, Harris only dropped one point to Hammers reserve Kim Nilsson in heat 11.

Team boss Jim Lynch remarked after the meeting on the clubs website: "I was immensely proud of the way our boys tackled the conditions and got the job done. Poole are a very strong side who are going for the double but if anyone can topple them, we can."
