Swedish grand prix racer Andreas Jonsson is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a broken shoulder blade and ribs on Saturday night.
Jonsson was left with nowhere to go after Emil Sayfutdinov was forced off his bike directly in his path. As the Russian was pushed out wide on the back straight by Matej Zagar, Sayfutdinov hit the fence, bounced back onto the track where Jonsson clipped his bike and landed heavily on his shoulder.
Jonsson was taken away from the track by ambulance to the nearby hospital where the damage was confirmed. X-rays revealed the full extend of the damage, a fractured scapula and broken ribs.
